Another week, another blog post!
I've talked previously about working full time, but for the second week in a row I have only worked a four day week (who do I think I am, right?) so I've had a couple of  productive three day weekends to get some photos taken and posts typed up. I am too organised for my own good recently, it's amazing what difference one extra day off can make!

Gingham is one of the biggest trends right now, whether it be on skirts, blouses or cigarette trousers. Personally, I think it is such a gorgeous trend, but it can sometimes be difficult to style without looking like you are wearing a school shirt, especially if you are height challenged like myself.
This bodysuit is from Boohoo, and combines 3 of my favourite trends of the season in such a beautiful way, without looking too fussy. We have frills around the neckline, statement sleeves, and gingham.
With the fit being on the looser side rather than the usual tight-fitted bodysuit, this can be worn day or night, dressed up or down, and this is how!

For a casual day look I think this goes so lovely with mom style jeans with a belt to cinch in the waist. I love how even when dressed down, you can still look fab because of the statement sleeves and frills!
As you can see I went super casual with this look and chose to go bare foot, though I don't recommend this if you are venturing out of the house... White trainers or a pair of ankle boots would look amazing with this outfit.
For a more glammed up night look, I paired the bodysuit with black petite Topshop Jamie jeans, a pair of Boohoo heels and my new favourite Charlotte Tilbury red lipstick (So Marilyn, in case you were wondering!)
This evening look is one of my favourites at the moment for a meal out or drinks, let me know what you think!

If there's one thing I love, it's finding an independent fashion brand or retailer. Don't get me wrong, I love Topshop and Zara just as much as the next fashion blogger, but supporting small brands and businesses is something that is important to me. Also, it's definitely a good feeling when you walk into work on a Monday, and you're not wearing the same thing as everyone else who visited Topshop that weekend!

I love being able to recommend these businesses to other people, and that's what I am doing today.

I recently bought this Lia Silver Sparkle jumper from Boutique of Molly, a fab online retailer with a lovely new SS17 collection available!
As I've mentioned in a recent post, it's still pretty chilly outside so this jumper was a perfect purchase for a long, cold day of house viewings this weekend. I wore it with my favourite petite black Topshop Joni's and some ankle boots for traipsing around house after house, but I also think this would look great with a white blouse underneath, or tucked into some mom style jeans.

My second buy from BOM was this Tokyo handbag - this is definitely going to be my new work commute bag! It's a perfect size for fitting my Kindle, purse and water bottle in for the train, but still looks stylish.

Delivery was super quick and items come wrapped up in the most beautiful pink packaging!
If you see anything you like, you can use the promo code EMMAJADE20 for a nice little discount - go on, treat yourself this pay day!

Happy Sunday!

Today as I type, it's trying to snow outside (still!), we've got a stew slowly cooking on the hob, and cups of coffee all round. Perfect Sunday before it's back to the grind tomorrow.

And this week I'm talking about something a little different than usual; I'm going to write about something slightly personal...

I have been blogging for a few months now, and while the main content of my blog was always going to be fashion - whether that be high street or petite-specific to speak out to girls like me that sometimes struggle finding clothes to fit properly! And so far, I have kept to that. I may not have blogged consistently every day or every week, and I may not have a tonne of followers, but I have stuck to my main passion.

The truth is, it is difficult to post 24/7 when you work full time - I can't sit on my phone tweeting while I'm at work, and I can't take all the photos I want to because it is dark by the time I get home. I am committed to blogging, yes, but I still haven't found my groove just yet, I'm still learning!

One of the main reasons for starting this blog was, as I have seen is the case for many bloggers, a way to tackle my anxiety. People kept telling me I should start a fashion blog; I have always had a love for writing, and I have a huge love for fashion and clothes (not so great for my bank balance). But I didn't have the courage. Anyone who suffers from anxiety knows that with any decision comes a mountain of questions; What if no one likes it? What if I'm not good enough? What if no one follows the blog?

One day, and I couldn't even tell you how or why, I just decided that enough was enough, and I was going to set up this blog whether my anxiety liked it or not. And here I am, a few months down the line, trying my best.

I am not really sure what the main story of this post is; I suppose I just wanted to put it out there that I too have anxiety, but I am not letting it beat me, and that I am using it to push myself harder, and that is where A Little Fashion blog came from!

Of course, I had to add a little fashion into this post, so as it's a Sunday, I've included my favourite go-to Sunday strolling outfit below - the jumper is a Chambray Crew Neck piece from Next's Loungewear collection. It does have a matching pair of Chambray joggers but these were out of my size when I ordered this! It's the comfiest jumper, and although it's designed for lounging round the house in, I love to throw it with a pair of jeans for out and about.

The handbag is from The Cambridge Satchel Company, and is from one of their 2015 collections, but I absolutely love it. With spring 'supposedly' around the corner, I love the pop of colour it adds to brighten up an outfit in this dull weather!

Valentines Day is fast approaching, and although my boyfriend and I don't usually make a big deal out of it or spend ridiculous money on each other, there's no harm in lusting after some dreamy presents is there?!

Valentines Day for us is usually a low-key affair, cooking a yummy homemade dinner together with desert and a bottle of wine, then either watching a film with a duvet and too many chocolates, or going out for a drink so we can get a bit dressed up!

And while we do buy a card for each other (love is not completely dead!) we just don't do presents. This year, we are trying desperately to save money for our first house together so I won't be finding any of the below in front of me but that's ok - I've written this post to just pretend for a minute that there's a tiny chance I'll be surprised if I hint hard enough...

Handbags are always a welcome gift aren't they? And for the girl who (doesn't have) everything, one of these would certainly do I guess.
Both are Aspinal of London, and are absolutely gorgeous. Either would go with any outfit you could put together, for any occasion and are definitely at the top of my wishlist.

Alternatively, there's this dreamy Burberry bag, and I just can't.
I'm crying.

And then, if he's feeling extra generous, what's a pair of shoes to match?
Valentino's are a classic for Valentines Day (so I've seen on Instagram the last couple of years...) and let's face it, who would turn these down? I've also thrown the Sophia Websters in for good measure, just in case the boyfriend wants me to look and feel extra fancy this year.
I am definitely pushing it now...

So what would be on your Valentines wishlist if there were no limits?

x

Let's face it, it may be February but the weather is not getting any better - depressing I know!
So yes, it should be moving into spring but I've got a little winter warmer here that you need to get your hands on.
Recently I have decided I don't make the most of living in such a beaut place, and so a couple of weeks ago my boyfriend and I went on a long walk around Macclesfield Forest in a bid to save money, instead of usual brunch and shopping weekends.
I knew there was going to be thick snow up there so I needed to wrap up warm; I own about thirty six billion coats (ish) but I swear this is the warmest!

Now obviously this is not the actual outfit I wore on the walk (and please ignore the terrible roots in my hair, this was taken pre-hairdresser visit...) but I didn't manage to get any good photos, so forgive me! This coat is from Boohoo Petite and at just £55 it's an absolute steal.
It's so warm and cosy, it makes a perfect winter warmer for long walks, or if you commute on the train like me, cold mornings stood on the platform waiting for delayed trains.
Boohoo's petite collection is my go-to at the moment, as I love how affordable but on trend they are, which is perfect right now as I am trying to save for my first house but don't want to miss out on all the gorgeous trends we're seeing so far this year.

And this was how the day ended! Cup of tea, the fluffiest socks and a cosy fire!
